On October 31st, Audrey Mika released her very first single since signing with RCA Records.

The 19-year-old rose to prominence earlier this year when several of her YouTube covers amassed over three million views each. Currently, she has garnered over a million subscribers. With her impressive vocal range and versatility, she is an emerging artist that everyone should be looking out for.

In her label debut track, Audrey sings about a recent heartbreak: “I always dreamed about falling in love / the movies they made it so beautiful”. These opening lines sound dream-like in front of the gentle guitar strings that back her up. As the song progresses, she reveals vulnerable confessions through her soulful vocals: “The stars have been telling me you were not part of this plan from the start / so thank you for proving me so wrong”.

Her vocal runs and ad-libs are what really add her playful spark to the R&B-infused background track. She keeps it youthful yet endearing, even when singing about a heartbreak that made her feel vulnerable.

Audrey Mika is set to open for Tori Kelly on her “Inspired by True Events” Tour in 2020. With this track release, she certainly proves she is a rising star.
